Prepping Basics

Are you looking for the essential prepping basics?

Whether you’re concerned about being laid off suddenly, house invasions, automobile accidents, the loss of electricity for a week, natural catastrophes, or long-term economic and societal collapse, you should start preparing right away.

It’s already too late if you wait until you need it.

You’re not alone: Millions of sensible people from all sorts of backgrounds are taking preparedness seriously, and the movement is gaining steam as more individuals realize they can’t count on others to save them in our changing environment.

The situation is straightforward: you’ll stay in your home, depart your home, or be away from it based on what happens. Making things unnecessarily difficult makes you less prepared.

It might be difficult to start prepping.

And, to make matters worse, there’s a lot of insane “loud minority” rubbish out there that pollutes rational preparedness with extremism, dangerous misinformation, or silly internet debates that don’t actually matter.

The whole idea of prepping is to reduce the likelihood of major life disruptions and to recover more quickly from any that do occur. That’s all there is to it!

Even something as simple and basic as a kitchen fire extinguisher is valuable — the majority of prepping has nothing to do with bunkers or bullets!

How To Start Prepping

Prepping Statistics

  • Just 39% of Americans could pay for a $1,000 emergency.
  • 42.4% of Americans are obese – Obesity related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer.
  • 48 percent of Americans do not have emergency supplies for a disaster.
  • According to FEMA, only 7 million out of the 120 million households in the US are prepared.
  • 33% of Millennials don’t know how to start a fire and 40% never camped before.

Don’t just look for a single checklist and skip the reading. If you learn from others rather than making the same mistakes that most beginners make when they attempt to “skip the vegetables,” you will save a lot of money and time while being better prepared.

The real key to prepping well is knowledge and following the proper path, not putting a bucket of gear in your closet.

And according to the latest FEMA survey, more and more Americans are starting to prep.
